Our April demo is given by artist Susan Gray, who will demo painting a seascape in oils. Susan has painted on and off all her life. When her children grew up, she studied art and design at college and then Fine Art at university in High Wycombe. She has always been fascinated by the sea and its surrounding area, particularly the Cornish and Devon coasts, and Cumbria. She prefers to work in situ or from sketches done outdoors, which she then works up into larger paintings. Her background is in oil painting, but since working outside, she prefers to use acrylics. Susan works as a full-time artist and teaches and demonstrates locally and further afield.
