Tuesday 16th April, 7.30pm, Centre 70
April’s live demo sees artist, Jessica Parker, demo paintings of street scenes used mixed media. She describes her work as “abstract realism”, with a strong emphasis on the environment and man’s relationship with it. Her work often features derelict and abandoned buildings or structures, and she uses discarded materials and artwork to emphasise her reuse/recycle/re-purpose mindset.
Jessica has an BA Honours degree in Art and Environmental Studies from Roehampton Institute and was Harrods Millinery buyer for 10 years, before moving to Oxfordshire to bring up her family and establish Kingfisher Studios. She now works full-time from her studio; teaching, running workshops and working on her own mixed media artwork.
