Spring Art Show Success 2026

Our Spring Art Show was held over the weekend of 8–10 May at Centre 70.

I wanted to say a huge thank you to everybody who helped make this year’s show such a success.

Many visitors remarked on the quality and variety of the paintings on display, and it was wonderful to see the exhibition so well supported across the weekend. We were delighted that the Mayor of Wallingford and the High Steward of Wallingford formally opened the show at Friday evening’s preview.

More than 700 people visited the exhibition and 21 paintings were sold, with average sales of approximately £126 per artwork. Overall sales exceeded £3,000, which is an excellent result for the club and for participating artists.

Special congratulations to Mark Wood and Carole Kettle, who each sold three paintings during the exhibition.

Enormous thanks must go to Nicola Webb for her marketing efforts, which clearly helped generate strong attendance and visibility for the event.

Thank you as well to everybody who contributed by submitting paintings, stewarding, managing the till, helping with refreshments, setting up the exhibition and taking it down afterwards. Events like this only succeed because so many people quietly contribute their time and energy behind the scenes.

Most importantly, the show reflected something very positive about the club itself. There was a real warmth and sense of pride around the exhibition all weekend. The standard of work continues to rise and the club feels in great health.

Thank you all again for helping make it happen.

Best wishes
