Saturday 19 July, Workshop – Mark Warner – Landscape in Acrylics, 10am to 4pm, Centre 70
On Saturday 19 July, eight people attended a full-day workshop with returning artist, Mar Warner. Previously Mark had done a seascape, this time it was a landscape of a phot he’d taken of the Brecon Beacons.
The attendees were full of praise for Mark’s teaching style. Among other things, he talked about composition, colour mixing and brush techniques. Here are some of the impressive results, each showing a range of individual style.

Mark Warner is a professional artist and was brought up on the West Wales coast at Aberystwyth. He studied Fine Art at Newport and is now working from his studio on the Shropshire/Wales border. Growing up on the coast has had a huge impact in the way Mark developed his particular approach to painting and how he views the landscape.
Mark adores using colour while interpreting the light, weather conditions and a love for the materials. “I work directly in the field (literally on many occasions!) from sketches created outside as well as notes and photographs taken on location, then worked back in the studio.”
