On Saturday 22 March 2025, from 10.00am to 4.00pm we held an all-day workshop led by artist Liz Chaderton.
Liz demonstrated painting an animal portrait in watercolour on canvas and guided 10 people to produce their own finished work. The surface is specially primed to accept the paint and then sealed. It is a contemporary way of displaying art and mixes traditional watercolour with the new.
Below is the output of the ten artists. (Liz’s demonstration piece is top second from left)
One of them transformed into someone’s daughter!
Liz lives in a small village in Berkshire, working mainly in watercolour and ink. She initially followed her love of science and words but the need to create always called. She has travelled extensively with pencil and paper to hand and sketched giant tortoises in the Galapagos and ancestral houses in Indonesia. Gradually, painting became something she couldn’t ignore, and in 2016 she committed to being a full time artist.
The workshop was £45 for members and £50 for non-members.
