ARCHIVE: May demo: Urban landscape

Contemporary artist, Cathy Read SWA, draws with masking fluid, creating urban landscape paintings that reflect city life in all its glory. From the ground-breaking designs of cutting-edge architecture, to the decaying remnants of a glorious past – all are lovingly embraced in images full of detail, using the vibrant colours of watercolour and acrylic ink.

Successful Summer Exhibition

Wallingford and District Art Club is holding its annual Summer Exhibition on 13-14 May at Centre 70, Wallingford. Members are being encouraged to submit works that represent the theme, CELEBRATE, to mark the Coronation of King Charles III.

Our April demo is given by artist Susan Gray, who will demo painting a seascape in oils. She has always been fascinated by the sea and its surrounding area, particularly the Cornish and Devon coasts, and Cumbria.

ARCHIVED: Mark Fennell – portraits in oils

On Tuesday 21 March 2023, we are holding a live demo at Centre 70 (which will also be relayed by Zoom).

The demo is on painting portraits in oils, using palette knives and brushes, by artist Mark Fennell. Mark is a professional portrait painter who works to commission from his home studio in the hill-top village of Brill in Buckinghamshire. He works predominantly in oils.
