Wallingford & District Art Club is holding its annual Summer Exhibition on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th May, from 10.00am to 4.00pm each day, at Centre 70 (just off the Kinecroft on Goldsmith’s Lane).
View over 60 works using all painting media, plus limited edition prints and cards, created by over 25 WADAC club members – ranging from commercial artists to skilled amateurs.
With subject matter from abstract to realist, the artworks include acrylics, inks, oils, watercolours, and mixed media. So, whether you like still-life or landscape, animals or florals, there is plenty here to delight any visitor.
Highlights from just a few of our artists include:
Mark Wood is a well-known Wallingford artist, painting delightful, gentle watercolours of landmark local scenes and atmospheric acrylic landscapes – full of colour and bravado.
Gavin Peacock works in oils, acrylics and virtual reality and typically demonstrates strong composition, depth, tonal contrasts and plays with light. Think atmospheric. He was recently awarded national ‘Amateur Artist of the Year’ by the SAA.
Carole Kettle uses oils and watercolours, painting evocative landscapes and street scenes. Many of her paintings capture people at play or rest and are delightfully sunny in nature.
Geoff Johnson’s flowers, landscapes and the changing seasons are all portrayed in vivid colour and great depth.
Centre 70 is in central Wallingford, just off the Kinecroft, and in easy walking distance of both Waitrose and Goldsmith Lane car parks. The venue is large, light and airy – giving ample scope for unpressured browsing of some delightful art.
The exhibition is open to WADAC members. To receive a submission form, contact admin@wallingfordartclub.org.uk
