Summer Exhibition 2025 Success

Wallingford & District Art Club held its annual Summer Exhibition on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th May.

20 artists exhibited over 150 works using all painting media, including limited edition prints and cards. Visitor numbers totalled 400 over the two days and were up by 15% on our Winter 24 exhibtion. Sales were up by 46%, although fewer paintings were sold, with the increase in revenue mostly accounted for by a major increase in sales of browser prints and cards, perhaps refelecting a comfortable ‘price point’ issue for buyers in the current economic climate.

The committee would like to thank all artist members who took the time to submit work, and also to those who helped with labelling, admin, payment reconciliation, set-up, hanging, stewarding, break-down, postering and marketing.

Due to recent November results and the effort involved, rather than have a Winter exhibition, the committee has decided to take a stall at the Wallingford Christmas Fayre day on Sunday 7 December from 10.00am to 5.00pm, as well as creating an ‘art walk’ in conjunction with Wallingford Town Council, with participating shops displaying members’ art.

We’ll keep you informed of details nearer the time, but rest assured, we are starting the planning now. On that note, if anyone has a sturdy gazebo no more than 3m x 3m, please contact Nicola Webb, as we need to provide our own cover for the day!
